Hot and humid to start the week with relief in sight
Heat peaks early this week
Temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s for Monday and Tuesday. Humidity will be in that humid/very humid range, leaving us with heat indices, or feels-like temperatures, closer to the mid/upper 90s. After that, things will look more seasonal in the upper 80s. The weekend appears to be trending even cooler, a few degrees below average.
Rain chances ramp up on Wednesday
We’ll stay almost fully dry on Monday and Tuesday with just that typical isolated chance of a shower or two. Wednesday, that will change as a cold front moves through. This is what will bring down our temperatures while also bringing in scattered showers/t-storms. We’re not looking at a washout, just some rain showers and maybe a few storms throughout the day on Wednesday. Rain chances look to linger during the day on Thursday before tapering off even more on Friday. This will leave us drier for the weekend.
Longterm Outlook
Forecasts are trending a bit cooler in the long term, with the end-of-month outlook having us below average and a bit drier. This, of course, can change in the coming weeks, but even without this trend, our average temperature will now decrease every day, as we are on the back half of summer. This is great news for anyone like me who is ready for a change and some fall-like temperatures.
