Kentucky Softball advances to Regional Final

CLEMSON, Sc. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Kentucky softball team dominated USC Upstate with an 11-0 shutout in Saturday afternoon’s first elimination game. Just a few hours later, the Wildcats faced a familiar foe—Northwestern—for a second time in the regional.

After falling to the Wildcats of the north 4-0 on Friday, Kentucky flipped the script on Saturday, earning an impressive 8-3 victory to keep their postseason hopes alive and advance to Sunday’s regional final.

The Wildcats will now face the Clemson Tigers on Sunday at 1 p.m. in a win-or-go-home showdown. If Kentucky wins, the two teams will square off again in a decisive rematch at 3:30 p.m. for a spot in the NCAA Super Regionals.
