Nick Mingione Named Perfect Game National Coach of the Year; 2 Wildcats earn All-America honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – After leading the Kentucky baseball program to the College World Series for the first time in program history, Head Coach Nick Mingione was named the Perfect Game National Coach of the Year on Wednesday.

This is the second time in his eight seasons as a head coach he has earned the award.

Mingione also won both SEC and National Coach of the Year in 2017.

Additionally, Nick Lopez earned Second Team All-America, and Ryan Waldschmidt was named Third Team All America.
