”Zachary was beautiful, so beautiful.”: Mother of accident victim speaks out
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A deadly crash claimed the lives of two people on Thursday. Zachary Blessing and Zachary Allen were killed when Blessing’s bike and Allen’s motorcycle collided at the intersection of Mason Headley Road and Beacon Hill Road.
Zachary Allen was just 23-years-old when his life tragically ended.
His mother, Deborah, spoke with ABC 36 News Now the day after he died to talk about her son and his legacy.
”Zachary was beautiful, so beautiful,” said Deborah. “He had the biggest heart. He loved so hard, anyone and everyone. Just a funny guy he loved to make everyone laugh. This world will not be as bright anymore with him gone.”
She says that he had just decided that he wanted to go back to college and he was always trying to be a better person and was such a protective brother.
Looking back on that horrific day, she recalls trying to call him after getting off work, but never heard from him.
”I got a call on my ring doorbell and they asked me if I knew a Zachary Allen and I said ‘yes is he okay, is he in trouble’. They said ‘we need to speak with you in person’ and so I headed home, I told my husband to head home, and they told us when we got there that he had passed.”
She says she never got to see her son that day.
“I’d always see him at night, but yesterday I didn’t. I never got to see him, I never got to speak to him.”
Deborah wishes she could tell her son, “That I love you so much, we all love you so much. We were always so proud of you. Just come back, just come home. Please come home because you cannot be gone, you cannot be gone.”
