Yard sale fundraises to help end Alzheimer’s
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Always Best Care, a senior in-home care community, held a yard sale Saturday to fundraise for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The organization offers services ranging from helping with daily living to bed bound care.
The Alzheimer’s walk is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, and is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds.
“Obviously, a lot of our clients have Alzheimer’s and dementia of different types,” says Sarah Diener with Always Best Care. “Alzheimer’s is a disease that effects people. A lot of people think of it as a disease that only effects the elderly, but that’s actually not true. We have clients as young as 50 and 60 years old. We love our senior clients, and we’re trying to help out, because we’d like to wipe this disease from the face of the planet.”
The Lexington Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be September 25th.
