Would-be robbery foiled by nerves?

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A clerk at a Lexington gas station appeared to be in for a robbery, but it never happened.

Police say a clerk told them that a man walked into a Speedway just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning on East New Circle Road with a tie-dyed shirt over his face.  The clerk told officers they man implied he had a weapon, but that for some reason he became spooked.

The clerk says the man turned around a left, without getting anything.

Police are still searching for the man.
