World War II veteran asks for 100 birthday cards

WICHITA FALLS, Tx. (KTRK/Houston Chronicle) — A World War II veteran living in Texas has received thousands of birthday cards, after asking for just 100 for his upcoming birthday.

According to KTRK in Houston, 99-year-old Joe Cuba had a staffer at Brookdale Midwestern Senior Living post a picture asking for 100 birthday cards.

The photo read “I’m a WWII veteran who will be turning 100 on March 2, 2019. I would like to receive 100 birthday cards.”

Now, according to the Houston Chronicle, Cuba has gotten more than 10,000 from all across the world.
