Worker killed at Toyota Plant in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Work is halted at the Toyota Manufacturing plant in Georgetown following an accident Tuesday morning that left a worker dead.

According to Scott County Coroner John Goble, a contractor with Ryder was killed while trying to attach a tractor and trailer outside the facility and became pinned between the two.

Goble says it happened near Body Weld at Gate 21 around 4 a.m.

He says the man died of blunt force trauma.

His body is being taken to Frankfort for an autopsy.

Toyota released a statement following the accident:
