Work Week Begins In Downtown Lexington With Power Outage

A KU spokesperson says one of the blasts from CentrePointe caused the outage.

About 10 AM, roughly 1,100 people lost power.

KU says the outage spanned from the Big Blue Building east to South Ashland and south to Chevy Chase.

Cops directed traffic, while businesses tried to make due.  The outage last for 1-2 hours.

KU says its system worked.  A substation near the bus terminal detected tremors and the fuses opening, shutting power off.

CentrePointe’s developer says Monday was the last day of major blasts.
