Woodford middle schoolers celebrate record year, state titles

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) –  On June 5, the boys and girls Woodford County Middle School track teams won the state championship at Eastern High School in Louisville Ky.

On June 8, the teams and their families celebrated with a victory lap and awards.

Like most schools, this 2021 sports year has been very crazy, but Woodford County didn’t let that stop them. They started practice mid March and worked very hard until it led up to the state championship.

This year Woodford County track took home the conference meet for both the boys and girls. This year was the first year the boys had ever won the state meet. The girls had not won since 2010. This year was the first year both the boys and girls had won state. This year the girls came very close to going undefeated. But the boys were undefeated all season.
