Woodford Humane Society trying to raise $18,000 by end of year

WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- There’s $95,000 on the line for the Woodford Humane Society, and only five days left to earn it.

The SAVE Matching Fund, a main source of support for the humane society since the fund’s establishment in 2002, provides supporters with a way to double their gift. Each year, anonymous donors come together to create a pool of matching funds to provide individuals in the community with an extra incentive to give; this year, those funds total $95,000, no small amount for an animal rescue organization on a tight budget.

The Humane Society needs to raise another $18,000 in donations before the clock strikes midnight on the 31st in order to earn an additional $95,000 in matching funds to help care for its homeless pets in the new year.

In order to qualify for the match, donations must be $100 or more and be received or postmarked by December 31, 2018. Anyone interested in helping the Woodford Humane Society meet its 2018 SAVE Matching Fund goal can give online at woodfordhumane.org, in person at the Humane Society’s Adoption Center, or by mailing a check with “SAVE” in the memo line to PO Box 44, Versailles, KY 40383.
