Women saved from flood waters in Clay County
CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Three women were helped from a their car after it became trapped in swift-moving water in Clay County.
Authorities say someone called 911 to report a car with people inside, stranded in flood waters on Chop Bottom Road around 9:44 p.m. Saturday.
Members of the Manchester Police Department, Kentucky State Police and Clay County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene and saw a car partially submerged in the water with three women yelling for help.
Law enforcement officials pulled one of the women from the backseat of the car and helped the other two women off the front of the car.
All were carried to safety just moments before the car was swept away by floodwaters, according to officials.
No one was injured.
