Woman Sentenced For Hiding Her Father’s Body In Lexington Storage Unit

A Texas woman was sentenced to ten years in prison for hiding her father’s body in a Lexington storage unit so that she could continue to get his social security checks.

Judith Maria Broughton’s father Luther died in 1990.

His mummified remains were found in the storage unit last January.

Prosecutors said Broughton rented the storage unit to conceal his death.

As part of the sentence, Broughton was ordered to repay $245,000.

Investigators said they were still trying to find Broughton’s mother, Mary Elizabeth.

The mother’s benefits had also been deposited into an account with her daughter.

According to prosecutors, those benefits had been suspended.
