Woman sentenced in 2014 murder case
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man and woman appeared in Fayette County Circuit Court this morning for a sentencing hearing regarding the 2014 murder and robbery of Darnell Bates.
Fayette County Circuit Court Judge Lucy Vanmeter sentenced Caitlyn Conway to 26 years in prison for her role in the murder and robbery.
The Fayette County Circuit rescheduled the sentencing date of Charles Patton III to April 5th; due to his attorney being ill.
Investigators say Bates was shot in the stomach after a burglary at his home on Addie Street on October 14th 2014.
Police say both Patton III and Conway forced their way inside the home during the attack.
According to court records, Demarcus Harris who is the third suspect involved is scheduled for sentencing on April 19th.
