UPDATE: Suspect arrested in deadly hit-and-run; victim identified

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Police have released the name of the driver involved in the deadly hit and run crash early Friday morning.

They say 27-year-old Elliot Moton has been arrested for leaving the scene, among other charges.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Fayette County coroner has identified the woman killed in a hit and run crash Friday morning.

The coroner identified the 21-year-old as Nina Okawachi. She died from multiple blunt force injuries.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 21-year old woman is dead after a hit and run collision, according to Lexington police.

Investigators say around 2:30 a.m. Friday, a person passing by Leestown Road near Greendale Road found a woman lying near the roadway.

They say she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Detectives say auto part debris, believed to have been left by the run vehicle, was located in the roadway.

There were no witnesses in the area and police are still trying to determine what happened.

Investigators are currently working to identify the vehicle, operator, potential passengers, and witnesses.
