Woman dead after single vehicle crash

PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman has died from injuries after crashing her vehicle on Highway 6014, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff.

Sheriff Greg Speck says it happened near the intersection of Hillside Drive around 3 p.m. Saturday.

According to the sheriff, Jean Roark, 69, of Warbranch, Ky., was driving west on Highway 6014 when she didn’t stop for a road closed sign at the end of the roadway.

The sheriff says Roark’s vehicle hit traffic safety barrels, then fell over an embankment, stopping about 200 feet from the end of the road.

The Somerset Fire Department removed Roark from the vehicle and she was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to Sheriff Speck.

The sheriff says Roark was airlifted to UK Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
