Woman claims retaliation from apartment complex
FRANKFORT, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A woman in Frankfort is looking for help after she says she was told her apartment complex won’t be renewing her lease.
Ethelynn Angulo has lived in the Fieldstone Apartments in Frankfort for more than a year. She says she started having problems soon after moving in, starting with a maintenance worker.
“This apartment complex allowed a person to come in to my apartment without knocking, without telling me anything. He walked right in, using the office keys,” said Angulo.
She says he brought someone in off the street claiming it was her caregiver, but Angulo says her caregiver was already inside.
She also told me she had problems with extreme noise coming from her neighbors. Angulo saying she can hear stomping, running and other noises all day and they get worse at night.
“And when we’ve gone to tell these people they’ve gotten angry and told us to call the police. So, we’ve called the police,” said Angulo.
Angulo says the police filed a report and an officer went to speak with the office, telling them that they needed to do something, because it wasn’t fair to her.
She says the office told police they would do something about it.
“And 20 minutes later they came up here, put a note on my door, told me they were not going to renew my contract and they wanted me out of here.”
Angulo says she has be to out at the end of the month, and doesn’t know what to do anymore and just wants peace.
An employee in the apartment complex office told me they could not comment at this time.
I also filed a request for dispatch calls and police reports with Frankfort Police. I hope to have that information in the next few days.
I’ll continue to press the property management for its side of the story and will have an update when I get it.
