Woman charged with murder, arson in boyfriend’s death

STANFORD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 35-year-old Stanford woman is charged with murder and arson in connection with the death of her boyfriend found dead in a burned home.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Tiffiney Griffin was arrested following an investigation intro the death of 39-year-old Jason Netherton, who troopers described as Griffin’s boyfriend, who was found dead Wednesday afternoon in a burned home on Maywood Road in Stanford.

Netherton was pronounced dead by the Lincoln County Coroner. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, for an autopsy.

As a result of the KSP investigation, Griffin is charged with murder, first-degree arson, evidence tampering, and abuse of a corpse. Her bond has been set at $100,000 cash, according to Lincoln County Detention Center records.

Troopers said they were not aware of any previous domestic violence calls involving the two.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Frank Thornberry.

He was assisted by KSP personnel, Lincoln County Fire Department, Lincoln County Coroner’s Office and the Louisville Metro Police Department.
