UPDATE: Victim identified in Lexington murder

UPDATE (July 30, 2018):

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The victim of a murder on Liberty Road over the weekend has been identified.

The coroner pronounced 19-year-old Jasmir Allen dead upon arrival to the hospital. She was taken to UK Hospital where she died of a gunshot wound.

LEXINGTON, KY (WTVQ)- Lexington Police have arrested a woman after they say an argument last night on Liberty Road turned into murder.

Lexington Police have now charged 20-year-old Montash Jackson in that fatal shooting.

They say Jackson was arguing with a woman she knew when she pulled out a gun and shot her.

It happened at 10:50 last night at Liberty Heights Apartments when Lexington Police responded to a call of shots fired.

When they got to the scene, Lexington Police say they found a woman with a gunshot wound.

She was taken to UK Hospital with serious injuries where she later died.

Jackson was questioned on scene and then arrested.

Jackson is scheduled to face murder charges today in court.
