Woman arrested for public intoxication, gets out of handcuffs in cruiser

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Danville Police Department say a welfare check ended up in a drug arrest for a Lexington woman Monday.

Police say they were called to Walmart to check on 29-year-old Jessica Crawley, who they say appeared under the influence. They arrested Crawley for public intoxication.

Officers say that while Crawley was in the back of the police car, she was able to slip out of her handcuffs and tried to open the car door. Officers re-secured her in the car and took her to jail, where they found narcotics on her.
