Woman arrested for arson in fire that injured firefighter

MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WTVQ/WRIL) – A 28-year-old woman has been charged with arson in connection with a fire Sunday night in Middlesboro in Bell County.
Chelsie Kuhns was arrested by Middlesboro Police Officer Caleb Ayers for her suspected role in the fire at a home on Edgewood Road owned by Larry Thacker, according to WRIL radio, citing the arrest citation.
The fire resulted in Middlesboro Fire Fighter Jeromy Killion being injured. Killion told the radio station he was back at home recovering after being treated at Middlesboro ARH and in Lexington.
Kuhns was spotted at a local gas station by officer Ayers and taken into custody. She was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with third-degree arson, first-degree wanton endangerment, and criminal trespass. She was also served with three outstanding warrants, WRIL reported.
