Woman arrested for abuse at The Ridge

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police have arrested a woman they say slapped an elderly patient in the face multiple times and sprayed in the face with a shower head at The Ridge.

According to police, 24-year-old Eunice Barnes was an employee at The Ridge on Rio Dosa Drive, in the geriatric unit.

They say on September 21st, Barnes was caught on security video slapping a patient with dementia in the face multiple times.

Police say Barnes and another employee then dragged the patient into the bathroom, where they sprayed her continuously in the face with the shower head.

Barnes’ arrest citation says she did not bathe the patient, as she was employed to do.

According to the citation, Barnes towel dried the patient’s vaginal area roughly, then used the towel to dry her face.

Police say the patient was bleeding from the left arm after the incident.
