Woman accused of stealing good samaritan’s car

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Deputies say a woman stole a car after the driver pulled over to help her Sunday night.

Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were investigating a complaint of a woman walking in the middle of Hal Rogers Parkway close to midnight. They say when they arrived they found a woman was on the side of the road and a car was driving away from the shoulder.

Deputies say the woman told them another woman, 50-year-old Ronda K. Wright, stole her car after she pulled over to see if Wright needed help. According to deputies, Wright shook the woman violently and threw her to the ground before taking off in the car.

Deputies say they were able to catch up with Wright about two miles from where she stole the car. They say Wright smelled like she’d been drinking and cursed and screamed at them.

Wright is charged with robbery, DUI, disorderly conduct, menacing and resisting arrest.
