Woman accused of trying to break-in to neighbor’s apartment with a knife

MONTICELLO, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Wayne County woman faces half-a-dozen charges after deputies say she tried to break-in to her neighbor’s apartment with a knife.

Investigators say 57-year old Kathy Ferrell, of Monticello, was arrested Wednesday around 9:00 p.m.

Deputies say they were called to an apartment on West Highway 92 about an attempted break-in.

Investigators say when deputies arrived, they found Ferrell walking away from her neighbor’s apartment with a knife in her hand as she prepared to return to her own apartment.

Deputies say Ferrell dropped the knife when she went into her apartment, but then fought with them as they tried to arrest her.

Investigators say the neighbor’s door was damaged by the attempted break-in.

Deputies say Ferrell was charged with Burglary; Criminal Mischief; Public Intoxication; Disorderly Conduct; Menacing and Resisting Arrest.

She was taken to the Wayne County Detention Center.
