UPDATE: Winchester man pleads guilty to lesser charge in child exploitation case
Update: July 7, 2017:
MOREHEAD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Winchester man pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in a child exploitation case, according to Rowan County court records.
The records show Richard N. Roland pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful transaction with a minor-third degree on July 7, 2017.
When he was initially arrested by Kentucky State Police in January of 2017, investigators said Roland tried to use an electronic device to procure a minor for sex, but unknowingly was in contact with an undercover investigator.

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say a Winchester man has been charged for trying to procure a minor for sex.
32-year-old Richard N. Roland was arrested Tuesday.
Officers say he tried to use an electronic device to procure a minor, but was unknowingly in contact with an undercover police officer.
He was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center.
