What’s next for Justify?
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The plan was, “We hope we’re buying a good horse.”
It worked out.
WinStar and company put up $500,000 and purchased Justify at Keeneland; then kept the gameplan to whatever Bob Baffert decided.
There was no need or desire to rush it. There were no races at two; then came the onslaught of 6-0 in roughly 4 months.
A Triple Crown and perfection. It’s truly spectacular.
So what’s the plan now with the super horse back at Churchill Downs for Baffert, WinStar president and CEO Elliott Walden and the crew? Check out the video to find out.
A game of cat and mouse. That was how jockey Mike Smith described his Belmont Stakes ride aboard Justify.
Hear what the oldest jockey (52 years old) to win the Triple Crown had to say about his successful trip through the series with the undefeated super horse in the video.
Let’s get back to what’s on tap for the latest Triple Crown winner.
Justify could go to the Haskell, Travers, Breeders’ Cup Classic and / or perhaps even race in the Pegasus World Cup in January.
Or is it straight to the breeding shed to prevent potential injury risks?
Walden breaks that down at the end of the attached video.
