What Will Government Look Like If There Is a Shutdown?
Lawmakers say they will only shutdown programs and offices that are deemed to be "non-essential." That means parks, museums and some clerical offices will be closed if a shutdown occurs.
If you collect Social Security, Unemployment or Medicare you will still receive your checks. However if you’re on the food program W.I.C you may be at risk of losing that aid.
Experts say that people looking for their first home or business loan may also have to wait, as those loan offices are expected to remain closed.
The Government says more than 700-thousand federal employees would be told to stay home if there is to be a shutdown.
Lawmakers and the President will still go to work and still be paid.
