Western Ky. Bridge Over Ohio River To Be Painted

An Ohio River bridge in western Kentucky is scheduled to be painted in 2016.

A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet official says the rusted Bob Cummings-Lincoln Trail Bridge will probably not be completely closed during the project. The span connects Hawesville to Cannelton, Indiana.

The Messenger-Inquirer in Owensboro reports (http://bit.ly/11ZFc1i ) the state of Indiana will manage the painting project.

The bridge was built in the 1960s.

The state of Kentucky managed the painting of the nearby Glover H. Cary Bridge in Owensboro that was completed last year. That project cost more than $10 million and the bridge was closed to all traffic for more than six months.
