Water to be turned off in Estill County area for upgrades

ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Estill County residents in the Sandhill Road area should be aware of an upcoming water shut off.

According to a post on the Estill County Water District No. 1’s Facebook page, the water is scheduled to be turned off at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24 for the Sandhill Road area including all side roads for system upgrades. The upgrades are expected to last around two to three hours.

Once the water comes back on, the area will be under a boil water advisory.

During that time, it is recommended that residents boil any tap water for three minutes that they intend to use for consumption, then let it cool before consuming it.

The city will advise residents of when the boil water advisory ends.
