Water outage affects dialysis center and restaurants in Hazard

HAZARD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A dialysis center and restaurants were among the many places, people, and things affected by water outage in Hazard on Wednesday.

Officials say a major leak was discovered around midnight near the Hazard Village Shopping Center.

A boil water advisory was issued for water customers from the CVS Pharmacy to the shopping center and all of Dawahare Drive and Ridgeview Way, which includes the Paul E. Patton Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center.

Affected customers should boil all tap water to be used for cooking, drinking and ice making for at least three minutes until further notice.

The advisory affects an estimated 150 customers, according to officials.
