School Choice Week – 140 events planned for public

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) — It’s National School Choice Week here in Kentucky, and across the nation.

Independently planned and funded, around 140 events will cover everything from information sessions to open houses, to movie screenings by community groups.

President of National School Choice Week,  Andrew R. Campanella, told Businesswire; “School Choice Week provides families in Kentucky with the opportunity to research and evaluate the K-12 school choices available for their children in time for the 2016-2017 school year.”

The events allow parents of K-12 age children to look at their options for schooling, including homeschooling, private schools, magnet schools, and public. In some areas of the state, parents can choose the school they think is best, regardless of where it’s located in relation to the household.

The week runs from January 24-30.
