UPDATE: Hustonville Water Works issues boil water advisory

HUSTONVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Hustonville Water Works has issued a boil water advisory after a water line break in Lincoln Co.  Currently, 250 customers are without water in the city.

Standing water in the area complicated finding the location of the leak, but the company says it has been found and repairs are being made.  No word, however, on when those repairs will be completed.

All customers are advised to boil their water for at least three minutes before using for cooking or drinking.

The Hustonville Mayor is asking all residents of the city to use as little water as possible after a water line break.

The Mayor says that standing water in the area is complicating efforts to locate the break, and is concerned that the large leak could potentially cause water outages if residents aren’t being conservative with their usage.

A representative with City Hall in Hustonville also is advising residents that once the break is repaired, a boil water advisory will be put into effect.

ABC 36 will update this story as more information becomes available.
