Warmer Tuesday ahead of late evening rain chances

Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Tuesday! Temperatures improve for your Tuesday ahead of late evening rain shower chances as a cold front sweeps through the region. Afternoon highs on Tuesday will climb into the upper 60s and low 70s for most. We will stay dry during the daytime as well before rain chances increase during the evening and overnight hours.

Rain moves in from the north and the west during the evening hours and will spread south and eastward overnight. We aren’t expecting any heavy rain with widespread totals less than a quarter of an inch, with isolated totals pushing half an inch to our north and northwest. Rain showers will be exiting Wednesday morning leading to a cloudy and cooler start to the day. There could be light showers and a bit of mist lingering through the midday hours on Wednesday very similar to what took place last Friday. Temperatures take a hit as well, as we will struggle to reach the mid-60s for afternoon highs.

There will be another frost chance Wednesday night into Thursday morning as temperatures will drop into the 30s once again. But temperatures should recover Thursday afternoon, returning to the upper 60s. This will lead to much warmer temperatures heading into the weekend. Friday will feature shower and storm chances as a warm front lifts through the region. A summer-like feel will return after that front passes. Afternoon highs Saturday and Sunday will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s. There will only be isolated rain and storm chances this weekend, before more widespread rain returns into next week.
