Warmer days ahead before some rain

Meteorologist Jordan Smith has your Sunday evening ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Sunday evening everyone, it was a day that started on a frigid note across the Commonwealth with temperatures starting into the mid to upper teens. Here are some of the coldest readings from across central and eastern Kentucky thanks to the Kentucky Mesonet.

Monday morning will still start cold, but not nearly as cold as this morning.

Slot1

We will see a NICE recovery into the afternoon with upper 4os to near 50 under a mostly sunny sky.

Slot2

Tuesday is even better with low to mid 50s under a partly sunny sky. I can’t rule out a stray shower but most will stay dry.

Slot3

Wednesday is the pick day of the week with temperatures hitting the low 60s under a partly sunny sky. Winds will become very gusty by the evening though ahead of our next front.

Slot0

Those winds lead to rain and thunderstorms moving in on Thursday that last into early Friday. Locally heavy rain, thunder, and lightning will all be likely along with the strong winds.
