Warm, breezy start to the week before midweek rain chances

Mild and Windy Through Tuesday

Monday brings another warm and breezy day across the Bluegrass, with southwest winds continuing to pick up. Gusts will reach around 25 to 30 mph at times, helping push temperatures well into the 70s and even low 80s in some spots.

Along with the warmth, a bit more moisture is moving in, which may lead to increasing clouds. A stray sprinkle or light shower can’t be ruled out, but most areas will stay dry.

Monday night stays unusually mild, with temperatures only dropping into the low to mid 60s thanks to the steady breeze.

The warm pattern continues into Tuesday, with highs climbing into the 80s once again. Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds, and while most of the region remains dry, the setup begins to shift ahead of the next weather system.

Midweek Showers and Storms Return

Rain chances increase late Tuesday night into Wednesday as a system passes to the north and drags a cold front closer to the region.

Showers and a few thunderstorms are expected through much of Wednesday. While a rumble of thunder or a brief gusty storm is possible, the overall severe weather threat looks low. Temperatures will stay warm, reaching well into the 70s and possibly the low 80s.

Unsettled Late Week, Then Cooler by Sunday

A few additional chances for scattered showers and storms linger into Thursday and Friday, though rainfall coverage may be somewhat limited at times. Severe weather is not expected, but periods of rain could move through the region.

Temperatures will remain above normal through the end of the week, generally in the 70s to low 80s.

Another cold front is expected to arrive sometime Saturday into Saturday night, bringing another round of showers and possibly a few thunderstorms. Behind it, a noticeable cool-down is expected to wrap up the weekend, with highs dropping back into the upper 50s and low 60s by Sunday.
