Wanton endangerment arrest in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police in Lexington say a man is behind bars after hitting two parked cars and then driving off.
Officers say they were called to Ward Drive, just after 2:00 a.m., on reports that someone in a white SUV had hit two parked vehicles and then drove off. Police say witnesses told them that 59-year-old Clarence Wallace was the one behind the wheel, and gave them an address where Wallace could be found.
When police went there, they found the car, abandoned, and Wallace with a facial injury. Police also say they found blood in the car.
Witnesses told police that Wallace had driven down Ward Drive at over 60 miles-per-hour, and was purposefully jerking the steering wheels to hit the cars before driving off.
The owner of the SUV told police that Wallace had taken the vehicle without permission.
Wallace was charged with wanton endangerment and theft.
