Walmart employees help woman hide from accused attacker
CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Employees at a Walmart in Corbin helped a woman hide from her boyfriend in the store after she says he held her against her will in a tent for days and assaulted her every time she tried to get away, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the woman finally escaped after her boyfriend, 35-year old Elmo Clinton Carroll, of Corbin, took her to Walmart to buy food.
Investigators say once the woman got away from Carroll in the store, employees helped her hide from him until deputies arrived.
Carroll was arrested and charged with Assault 4th Degree-Domestic Violence and Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree.
He was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
Investigators say the woman had old and fresh injuries to her face.
