Walk Bike Summit Scheduled For This Week

KY Rails to Trails Council will host the first Walk Bike Summit in Frankfort this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Community leaders, advocates, professionals, and experts will come together to discuss how bicycling and walking can be safe, economical, and healthy.

Some of the featured speakers include Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson, Frankfort Mayor Bill May, Berea Mayor Steve Connelly, walkable community expert Mark Fenton, and Andy Clarke from the League of American Bicyclists.

The summit is designed to inform planners, engineers, advocates, educators, and enthusiasts about trends and strategies in developing bike and pedestrian facilities across the state and will feature clinics to help people build and maintain mountain bike trails, start community bike shops, and to improve their bicycling skills.
