Voter turnout could be one of the highest since 2010
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- The stream of people in and out of the polls has been steady all day… which could be a sign that the Secretary of State’s prediction of high voter turnout is coming true.
Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes predicted around a 30 percent turnout… which if does come true would be one of the highest turnouts for an election since 2010.
Many believe the high turn out could be due to the polarized political climate the country has found itself in as of late.
There are several federal races including the sixth congressional district that are getting a lot of attention from voters here and beyond.
But for other voters… they are more focused on local races and what that could mean for people right here in Richmond.
Voter Ed Lainhart says “it’s very important to me who is representing me and our city and we’ve got a lot of good candidates. I look for the future to be bright because we have some things that need to be accomplished in our city and we have some people who has the heart to do that.”
