Volunteers lay holiday wreaths at veteran cemetery

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – More than a thousand people volunteered to lay wreaths at graves at Camp Nelson Cemetery in honor of National Wreaths Across America Day.

Over 10,500 live evergreen remembrance wreaths were laid to honor remember fallen heroes, honor those who serve, and teach younger generations the value of freedom.

Bob Cairel, a volunteer, says the event left an emotional mark.

“More sobering than I thought it would be,more reflective but it’s good to do this…it’s something that we need to do and need to do often.”
