Volunteers “dress up” trees around Lexington to help those in need

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Volunteers gathered at a couple Lexington parks Saturday for an unconventional way to help those in need.

All week, people donated winter weather clothing like gloves, hats and scarves so they could tie them to trees at a couple Lexington parks.

The group hopes to help those who might not be able to afford those items by making them easily accessible in places like Woodland and Phoenix parks in Lexington.

This same act has been done in a number of cities across Central Kentucky.
