Victim identified in deadly Anderson Co. hit-and-run

Lawrenceburg, Ky. (WTVQ) — Kentucky State Police have identified the victim of a deadly hit-and-run in Anderson County.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Benjamin Carpenter.

According to KSP, on December 15, officials responded to the 2000 block of US 62 in Anderson County in reference to a fatal hit and run incident involving a pedestrian.

Through their investigation, KSP says they identified William Barnett as the driver.

Barnett is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain insurance, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle and failure to notify the Department of Transportation of an address change. He is currently being held at the Shelby County Detention Center.

The investigation is still ongoing at his time.
