Veterinary clinic burglary suspects awaiting extradiction back to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, KY  (WTVQ) –  Two suspects are sitting in jail in Tennessee  awaiting extradition back to Kentucky in connection to two burglaries and one attempted burglary.

Richmond Police say back in June 2015, an employee of the Skipworth Veterinary Clinic in Richmond came into work and noticed the door in the back of the business was pried open.

Police say two people entered the business just before midnight and stole around 23-thousand dollars worth of medication and supplies from the clinic.  The thieves also cut several cables, including the phone line.

Less than three months later the owner of the clinic arrived at work and noticed someone tried to pry the door open again, but couldn’t get inside.

Police say hours after that attempted burglary a veterinary clinic in Lexington was burglarized.

According to police, 42-year-old Timothy Ross and 45-year-old Jason Leffew were behind the three burglaries .

In October;  police issued warrants for the two suspects. The two were recently arrested in tennessee and charged with burglary.attempted burglary and criminal mischief.
