UPDATE: Victim in fatal Anderson Co. collision identified

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police have released additional information about a fatal wreck that happened on Versailles Road in Anderson Co. on Friday.

According to troopers, a Chevrolet Lumina traveling west on US 62 crossed over the center line, hitting a Toyota Highlander heading eastbound.  The driver of the Lumina, 24-year-old Aaron Caudill was taken to Frankfort Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The driver and passenger in the Highlander were taken to UK Hospital with serious injuries.

Police say prior to the collision, Anderson County 911 received a call about the Lumina driving recklessly.


11:31 a.m.

Kentucky State Police say one person is dead after a two-car collision on Versailles Road in Lawrenceburg.

Troopers say Lawrenceburg 911 received a call from a person complaining about a reckless driver ahead of him.  Anderson Co. Deputies say they went to investigate the complaint, but by the time they arrived a collision had already occurred.

According to Police, a Chevy Lumina – the car that the 911 call had been in reference to – had crossed the center line of Versailles Road and hit a Toyota Highlander.  The Lumina then flipped over.  Investigators say the driver of the Lumina died at the scene.

Two other individuals were taken to UK Hospital for injuries.  No word yet on their condition.

Versailles road re-opened for traffic at about 12:45 p.m.
