Vehicle fire in Pike Co. kills one

BIGGS, Ky. (WTVQ) – State troopers are investigating a vehicle fire in Pike Co. that has taken the life of one person.

Officers say the received a call about a vehicle fire on KY 194 fire during the evening hours on Monday.  Grapevine and Fedscreek Fire Departments were able to put the fire out.  Troopers say that’s when they discovered a body inside.  Investigators say the vehicle, a GMC truck, went off the road and landed in a ditch, where it caught fire.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike Co. Coroner.  The body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort to be identified.

No foul play is suspected at this time.
