Utility workers injured by car near Cincinnati
CINCINNATI (AP) — Several utility workers were injured by a car that crossed a median and struck them at a worksite near Cincinnati.
Police say 23-year-old Michele Schuster, of Cincinnati, was driving on Cox Road near the Liberty Way intersection when she hit four workers next to a utility truck installing new power lines.
The victims were Tiffanie McCants, of Cincinnati; Bill Moore, of Hustonville, Ky.; Joseph Olephant, of Sonora, Ky. and Amber Marie Rooks, of Norwood, Ohio.
A fifth utility worker, Blake Patton, of Cleves, Ohio, was working in the bucket of the utility vehicle during the crash.
The Enquirer reports (http://cin.ci/1yU6EfH) that officials said Thursday that charges were pending. The workers and Schuster were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Two were later taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
