UPDATE: US 27 in Pulaski County reopens following tanker truck crash

UPDATE: SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that all lanes of US 27 in Pulaski County are now open as of 11:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018.


SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – A stretch of US 27 in Pulaski County was closed in both directions most of Friday following a gas tanker truck accident, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Officials say the road may reopen around 11:00 p.m. Friday, February 2.

Investigators say the truck hit a rock wall near General Burnside State Park, around mile marker eight.

Gasoline spilled onto the road.

The damaged tanker truck was removed from the scene early Friday evening, but the cleanup continued, according to the state.
