UPS Store ‘Unstable’ After Wrong-Way Driver Crashes into It
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – A Louisville UPS store has been deemed structurally unsafe after a wrong-way driver crashed into the building.
News outlets report the crash happened Thursday morning, causing the building to partially collapse.
Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell says the driver of a pickup truck was heading the wrong way down a one-way street when he entered an intersection and struck a car before crashing into the building.
The truck driver, who’s from out of town, and a passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries. The driver of the other car wasn’t hurt.
The crash remains under investigation, but Mitchell says charges likely won’t be filed in the case.
MetroSafe says that two lanes closest to the building will be closed for about a week due to the building’s condition.
