UPDATE: Woman dies from injuries suffered in Scott County crash

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Georgetown woman has died following a three-vehicle collision in Scott County, according to deputies.

Investigators say 93-year old Wanda Offutt died at U.K. Hospital Monday.  She was a passenger in a car driven by 66-year old Susan Offutt, also of Georgetown.

Deputies say according to their preliminary investigation, 49-year old Tommy Furnish, of Stamping Ground, was driving a car outbound on Long Lick Pike, just past Lloyd Road, west of Georgetown, shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Monday.

They say Furnish’s car collided with a tow truck traveling in the opposite direction.  The tow truck ended up on its top.  Deputies say Furnish’s car then collided with Susan Offutt’s car, which was also traveling inbound.

Furnish, Susan and Wanda Offutt and the tow truck driver, 60-year old Cole Farris, of Union, all were taken to U.K. Hospital, according to deputies.

The deadly collision remains under investigation by the Georgetown/Scott County Collision Investigation Unit.
