Update: Victim Name Released In Deadly Scott County Motorcycle Wreck

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the individual who died in a motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon on I-64.

Christopher Rose, 53, from Algonquin, Ill. was pronounced dead at the scene.

Andrew Scholl, 51, from Machesney Park, Ill. was transported to UK Hospital and is listed in stable condition.

        Neither was wearing a helmet.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident happened around 6pm, when a car traveling eastbound on I-64 lost a tire.

Investigators say the tire rolled across the median and into the west-bound lane, in front of the two motorcycles.

The sheriff’s office says both riders swerved to avoid the tire and crashed in the road.

Traffic was backed up about five miles for about two hours until the scene was cleared.

Investigators say the driver of the car that lost the tire was not hurt.
